Speakers

Mr. Pat Kirwan, Senior Risk Manager with the State Claims Agency. Pat has been involved in occupational health, safety and property risk management over the past 16 years in a variety of roles. His current role involves advising and assisting State Authorities on measures to be taken to prevent future claims.

Ms Roisin McEneany, Head of the Occupational Hygiene Unit of HSA. This Unit deals with exposure to chemical agents at the workplace, asbestos, biological agents, carcinogens and related Occupational Hygiene matters.

Dr Helen Barry, Chief Medical Scientist St James Hospital, Dublin. She has worked for many years in Clinical Microbiology., and was part of the HSA review body reporting on health and safety in the health service.

Dr Brian Crook, Head of Microbiology Section, HSL UK is a principal occupational and environmental microbiologist and research project manager working on investigating occupational infection, occupational allergy and toxicosis.

Mr David Handley, MD of Healthy Buildings International which he founded 13 years ago. He has over 20 years experience and involvement with Legionella works. He is the advisor to CIBSE on Legionella management.

Mr. Robin Howie has worked in Occupational Hygiene since 1974. His areas of particular interest include PPE, noise and hearing, safe work with asbestos, control techniques for volatile hazards and the effects of heat stress. He has published over 100 papers or articles, and is a past president of the BOHS.

Ms Jennifer O'Leary has worked in Swords Laboratories as Process Safety Manager She was involved in the Design, Construction & Start-Up of the new Bristol Myer Squibb manufacturing facility at Cruiserath where she is now Safety Manager.

Mr. Ossian Geraghty is a lecturer in Occupational Hygiene and Air Pollution at Sligo IT. He has recently completed a taught MSc. In EH&S Management. Previously he worked as a consultant in the area of environmental emissions and occupational hygiene in both Ireland and the UK
